A Goal

A make up game for Jack and Abi was scheduled. So to the park we went. Not everyone on the team showed up so all of the kids that came HAD to play, which meant that Jack and Abi would HAVE to play regardless if they wanted to or not. At first we weren't sure if we would be having a coach, but as we were getting ready to play the coach showed.

Abi went in strong and ready to play as we practiced that last that last Thursday. Abi got in there stole the ball and was kicking it toward the goal when a little boy came and stole it away from her. She stopped dead in her tracks and started crying. We tried to console her but her little heart was broken as the ball was stolen from her. The other team were shark attackers because they were getting goal after goal after goal. After Abi trying her best then having the ball stolen from her, I headed onto the field and helped her.

While holding her had I was coaching and leading her around trying to help her really get into the game. Also to let her know it was okay if the ball was stolen that we could try again.

The other team had kicked the ball out of bounds so we were in front of the ball and ready to strike. The little player kicked the ball in and I guided Abi to attack the ball (while I was holding her hand). She guided the ball towards the goal and kicked it in. YEAH!!! She made a goal (with the help of a retired soccer player, ME). Since we were helping Abi, Jack felt as though we needed to help him. So I tried helping him and Jack got the ball really close to the goal, but the hard kick he gave it had it go out of bounds.

As Jeremy and I were out on the field, yes we were guiding our little wons, other parents started to help their distracted little three and four year olds. At first I felt bad for the other team, but in the end I didn't as they were kicking our butts with adults on the field.

All in all it was quite a fun game. We have four games left, we will be glad when this season is over.
