24th of July
On the 24th of July, Jeremy, the kids and I had a late start to the day due to our busy schedules. Once we were up and going we headed to Discovery Gateway for a little bit of creativity.
After a fun day we then headed to Grandma H's for a little swimming before fireworks.
Jack being the dare devil that he is decided not to use his puddle jumpers and use grandma's pool noodle, throw it into the deep end and then jump on it. A little later he was swimming across the pool. Abi on the other hand was happy as a clam swimming with her puddle jumpers on, no care in the world.

Swimming like the fishes
Jeremy the kids and I decided to head to Grandma H's to go swimming. Jack decided to work on his cannonball while Abi graciously worked on her gliding through the water.

A day in Ogden
The kids and I decided to head up to Ogden so they could play with their cousins and I could chat with my Sister In Law and her sister.
The kids had hot dogs with chips and then a bunch of swimming. Us ladies had stuffed peppers/zucchini's - they were delicious. We had such a fun time heading up there, hanging out, chatting and swimming.

Thanks Mindy for letting us come up and visit.

Seven Peaks Family Day
Jeremy was able to take a Friday off and so we piled in the car and headed down to Seven Peaks Provo. The kids and I have been a few times, but Jeremy had never been or couldn't remember. So spending the day in the wave pool, going down the yellow and blue slide or just hanging out in the kids area, we had a lot of fun.
After a fun filled day of swimming, sun tanning and just enjoying some family time, we headed off towards home. We showered and got ready as Jeremy was going to take me to see RED 2. We dropped the kids off at my Sisters and off we went.
After the movie (which was really good) we headed over to Chili's for a little appetizer and drinks to then head home and pick up our little children.
We had such a fun, busy, but great day.

Pioneer Day - July 24th
Our great state commemorates today as a holiday due to the courageous pioneer men, women and children let by Brigham Young who walked into the Salt Lake Valley on July 24, 1847. What a tremendous journey, trial and miracles that happened on that adventure heading west from Navoo, Illinois.
Today in celebration the South Clan tends to make their way up to Hogle Zoo for a nice morning adventure of their own. Last year we didn't attend (most likely due to me having to work) but this year we made it in full swing.
The kids and I got up early that day and headed toward the Hogle Zoo. We ran into a little but of traffic due to the marathon that happens in the Foothill area, but made it just in time as the rest of the South Clan were getting out of their cars.

After getting in 4 hours of seeing all of the animals, riding the carousel, drinking our refilled icee's and wearing down from getting up so early we finally headed off to Mom's for a little relaxation.
Relaxation turned into a second wind of energy. Mom and I headed to Cafe Rio for a little bit of dinner and as we got back from picking up the food, Brooke and Logan arrived. We quickly ate and then hurried into our swim gear for a little dip in the pool. Abi had a little incident with Grandma and had an unhappy moment. Once everything was settled we headed to the pool. Swimming for only about an hour we got out, dried off, headed back to mom's, changed and then off we went to Cottonwood Heights (Butler Park) to watch the fireworks. They had a live band playing. The fireworks were so awesome. It was really fun to see them up close and feel the boom.

Such a wonderful 24th of July, the only one missing is Jeremy.

Blackridge Reservoir
Today for our adventure we invited Jack and Abi's cousins and headed to Herriman to Blackridge Reservoir. Its pretty much a man made beach. We tried to go a month or so ago, but it was under construction and today we could see why. They added more parking, pavilions and a playground (which was still under contruction), they even have a concession stand. So making this place nicer they have done a great job.
Today the very coarse beach was crowded, but we were able to find a little spot. We laid our stuff out and headed toward the water. The water was a little more on the colder side, which with these hot temps you would think it would be warmer, but once you got out and went back in it wasn't so bad.
From building volcanos, to sand castles to rivers and ditches we had a very nice time.

A little Swimming
After spending Saturday hanging out at mom's, Jeremy the kids and I decided to go for a little swim. Jack told Jeremy and I that he didn't want to wear his floaties and sure enough, my little boy it turning in a brave little man.
He spent the time by the stairs diving under water and then coming up. I think swimming lessons are in order, which Abi and Jack will be starting in October.
Abi is getting a little more brave each time we go swimming, Going under water, working on holding her breath etc. Its fun seeing them figure out how the water works.

July 4th, 2013
Every year we have found ourselves heading up to Ogden to spend the day with the South Clan. This year wasn't any different. It always fun to head up and eat, swim, chat, laugh, eat, swim and finally get ready for the fireworks.
This year we made it up to Ogden about 2 pm.
During the American Revolution, the legal separation of the Thirteen Colonies from Great Britain occurred on July 2, 1776, when the Second Continental Congress voted to approve a resolution of independence that had been proposed in June by Richard Henry Lee of Virginia declaring the United States independent from Great Britain.[4][5] After voting for independence, Congress turned its attention to the Declaration of Independence, a statement explaining this decision, which had been prepared by a Committee of Five, with Thomas Jefferson as its principal author. Congress debated and revised the wording of the Declaration, finally approving it on July 4. A day earlier, John Adams had written to his wife Abigail:
Historians have long disputed whether Congress actually signed the Declaration of Independence on July 4, even though Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, and Benjamin Franklin all later wrote that they had signed it on that day. Most historians have concluded that the Declaration was signed nearly a month after its adoption, on August 2, 1776, and not on July 4 as is commonly believed.[8][9][10][11][12]
In a remarkable coincidence, both John Adams and Thomas Jefferson, the only signers of the Declaration of Independence later to serve as Presidents of the United States, died on the same day: July 4, 1826, which was the 50th anniversary of the Declaration. Although not a signer of the Declaration of Independence, but another Founding Father who became a President, James Monroe, died on July 4, 1831, thus becoming the third President in a row who died on this memorable day. Calvin Coolidge, the 30th President, was born on July 4, 1872, and, so far, is the only President to have been born on Independence Day.
This year we made it up to Ogden about 2 pm.
After a fun filled day of eating and swimming we finally closed down the pool and got ready to see some fireworks.
I am so thankful to live in the United States of America. I am thankful for the founding fathers who created the Declaration of Independence. Although it is being held only by thred, remember the men who created that document to make our country the land of the free.
Adams's prediction was off by two days. From the outset, Americans celebrated independence on July 4, the date shown on the much-publicized Declaration of Independence, rather than on July 2, the date the resolution of independence was approved in a closed session of Congress.[7]The second day of July, 1776, will be the most memorable epoch in the history of America. I am apt to believe that it will be celebrated by succeeding generations as the great anniversary festival. It ought to be commemorated as the day of deliverance, by solemn acts of devotion to God Almighty. It ought to be solemnized with pomp and parade, with shows, games, sports, guns, bells, bonfires, and illuminations, from one end of this continent to the other, from this time forward forever more.[6]

A little Story before Swimming
Friday evening the Heinrichs kids and spouses, minus Jeremy and Cristy, headed to Mom's for a little dip in the pool. As everyone arrived and some of us still needed to change into the proper swimming attire, Auntie Brooke was given a book by one of the nephews and she read them a story.
As they all huddled around their Auntie Brooke, they listened intently to the story. After the story they were ready for some swimming.
Best of Cousins. Kaymbria and Abi hand in hand as we head to the pool.
Thanks Mom, for always letting us come over and cool off in your pool.

Seven Peaks - Provo
It has been ages since I have been to the Seven Peaks in Provo. Since this year we purchased the Pass of all Passes I figured what they heck we will go a check it out. I had also heard it was more "kid" friendly, which was true.
We invited our neighbors and figured Brooke might want something to do so invited her to come along as well. We were going to meet our neighbors there around 11. As Brooke showed up to our house at 10, we got in the car and headed towards Provo.
The scenery was gorgeous. The mountains looked like a backdrop. It was nice enjoying the sun, sticking our feet in the water and watching the kids go up the stairs to go down the slide. They proceeded that exercise about 50 times each.

The popular slide. The slide was so much fun, Abi had a hard time waiting her turn.
No slides were played on today. We did the lazy river once, it was too cold to do it again even though today's hotness reached a scorching 100 degrees.
A quick rest time while lunch is being picked up.
Lunch is served. Burgers and Fries, the favorite.
The watered mushroom we would make our way up to, the cool off source for the day.
This in the end is how we all felt after spending about 6 hours in the sun, water and going down the kiddie slide.
Courtesy of the Photos go to Brooke. She was brave enough to bring her phone near the water. Thanks for the great pics!

Memorial Weekend
Over memorial weekend Jeremy worked hard at constucting the chicken coop so that the chickens could roam wild and free instead of being locked up in their kennel as they have been for the past few months.
Over memorial weekend while I went out with some friends for Sushi, Jeremy and the kids set up the tent in the backyard and rosted Hotdogs and Marshmellows.
Over memorial weekend we decided to use our Pass of All Passes at Seven Peaks. Enjoying the under staffing at the park, the no communication as to where to go to get things redeemed. After finally getting everything done we enjoyed our swim at the park. After a hard day of swimming we picked up some burgers from Ab's and enjoyed every little bite.
Over memorial weekend, Jeremy was assigned to give a talk in Sacrament Meeting, speaking on families. I enjoyed having the support of Mom, Brooke and Logan. The talk was very meaningful and well done. After wards we headed back and had delicious chicken and Fish fajitas.
Over memorial weekend we decided to meet up with Brooke and Logan and head to Mom's for a dip in her pool, since it is NOW open (as the kids would say). The weather was a little on the mid to high 70's side, but the pool was nice a warm. You needed to get out of the pool to cool off.
