Vegas Vacation 2012

This year for our family vacation we decided to head down to Vegas to our timeshare at Tahiti Village. It's been two years since we have been down there and at that time Abigail was 8 months and Jack was 16 months - this time Jack is three and Abigail is two. Time definetly flies when you are having fun.

We headed down on Monday in my friends vehicle. Seven of us fit in just snug enough. We arrived in Vegas about 8:00 pm with a few stops on the way. The first one was due to the child locks on being on the door and Abigail wanting to play with the car door handle. The second one was due to my friend trying to get her contact out so I could put some liquid on it, but then it fell. The third was to get some late lunch in Cedar City.

Since the pool didn't close until 10:00 pm we decided to head to the room, drop off our stuff, change into our swimsuits and head to the pool.

As we were enjoying the breeze, the water and the warmth we ran into our neighbors who were leaving the next day. We chatted with them for a little while, swam some more then about 10 pm headed back to the room to get ready for bed. We still had to go shopping so Lauren, Karly and I got dressed and headed to the store for some food for the week.

We got back about midnight and headed to bed.

Tuesday - we got up, made breakfast then headed down to the pool for some fun in the sun, playing in the sand and enjoying the water from the warmth of the sun.

We spent the majority of the time in the pool, but did head over to the lazy river which Jack loved and Abi disliked.

After swimming we headed to the room for some lunch and nap time. Around two we decided to get ready and do some adventuring on the strip.

We parked at the Bellagio and explored the garden.

After walking through the beautiful Bellagio we made our way to the Mirage with a few stops for posing and picture taking.

Ice Cream break from our walk

Kids sharing the ice cream - it was delicious, or yummy or tasty.

After the ice cream break the fountains of the bellagio started so we watched the musical water dance in the air. The kids loved it, Abi wanted more. We then made our way from the Bellagio along the front of Ceasar Palace to finally the in doors of the Mirage.

We had another family head in to stay with us so we made our way back to the car so we could meet them. They arrived about 7:00 pm. We helped them up to the room, cooked some pizza for dinner then headed back to the pool for an evening swim. We swam and played in the sand until about 10 pm then headed back to the room, got cleaned up, put the little ones to bed then the adults chatted (well the ladies of the group) until about midnight or one.

Wednesday - We made a pretty awesome breakfast with eggs, bacon and toast. Once our little bellies were full we again got our swim suits on and headed down to the pool. We swam until about or past lunch time then headed to the room for lunch and naps. The kids took a nap, my friend and her kids wanted to go back to the pool so that is where we headed. We swam for the rest of the afternoon, then headed back to the room to get ready and head out to the strip for dinner. We ran into by brother in law and he hung out with us for the day and headed to dinner with us.

We decided to take Tahiti Village's shuttle which dropped us off at the Mirage and so we hiked our way to Ceasar's Palace to eat at Serendipity.

After we ate and awesome dinner with a frozen hot chocolate for dessert we decided to head back to the Mirage and watch the volcano.

We made it with a few minutes to spare. The sidewalk was pretty packed with people getting ready to see the attraction. I wasn't sure if they had changed the performance so we headed to where the huge volcano was. Jeremy had Abi on his shoulders and I had Jack on mine - of course we should have recorded our experience but we got some pictures instead. As the volcano started Jack started getting nervous and kind of shaking. Then as the fire burst in the air Jack started screaming and then yelled "We need to run!" Jeremy took Jack from my shoulders and put him on his. As the remainder of the show went I took pictures of the volcano, but turned just in time to get a picture of Jack screaming again. It was really funny.

After the volcano we headed back, made our way to the indoors of the Mirage to then await our shuttle for pick up.

Thursday - We again made a pretty good breakfast and new we needed to pretty much cook all that we could since the next day we would be packing up and heading home. So we had eggs, bacon, toast and hashbrowns. After breakfast we again headed to the pool for some fun in the sun. We enjoyed the lazy river and especially the pool. We swam, played in the sand and enjoyed the water cooling us down from the heat of the sun. We headed back to eat some lunch and enjoy the balcony. After a little while my friend and her kids wanted to head back to the pool so I joined them. While they swam and hung out in the shade and read a little on my awesome iPad.

We then headed back to the room to get cleaned up and head out to dinner. This time we decided to go just next door to our timeshare's restaurant - Tahiti Joe's. In a way it was good food, but they also were having really slow service that night.

We all headed to bed after dinner so we could get up the next morning and check out by 10 am.

Friday - we woke up early to get ready, we finished off the breakfast that was from the previous day, packed and headed out the door to pack up the car for our ride home. Before we headed home we had to stop by the Vegas sign and get our picture taken.

Here is a comparison from 2010 to 2012 - crazy.

After the Vegas sign we headed to the M&M store and bought some souveniers. All in all it was such a fun trip, I can't wait until we do it again in 2014.
