I can't believe that another year has come and gone and the Utah State Fair is back in town. We decided to check out the fair and see what was happening this year. We called up Mom, Brooke and Logan to see if they wanted to join us in our adventure.
After finding a place to park and finally meeting up by "The Grandstand" we headed over to the Little Hands Farm for a little farming. Last year we took the kids through it and it is such a cute idea, we were glad they had it again this year. Jack and Abi got their aprons on, grabbed their buckets and headed through the farm. We first got our food to feed the pigs and the cow. Then headed to the apple orchard to pick apples. Then picked our seeds to plant in the garden when finding on the other side our seeds growing to huge vegtables. Jack and Abi then had to do some plowing on their tricycle tractors. After the plowing they had to sheer the sheep, collect the eggs from the chicken coop and then put their supplies in the correct crates. For their hard work they collected a dollar and we then headed to the General Store and they picked out a treat.
After the Little Hands Farm we decided to do the tradition and head down the Big Yellow Slide. Abi was scared out of her mind, Jack enjoyed the smooth cruise down the humps of the slide.
Next to the big yellow slide Abi noticed a little ride that she desperately wanted to ride. We headed over and got some tickets for the kids and headed to the ride. Jack was way excited for the big ride, he found the color plane he wanted to ride in, got buckled in and was excited to go...Abi on the other hand...that was a different story. Abi picked out the plane she wanted to ride in, Jeremy got her buckled in and all scariness broke loose. She started to freak out, cry, didn't want to ride it, but Jeremy held his ground and told her she had to ride. She cried the whole entire time. While each time Abi came around and the tears strolling down her face, Jack was smiling and enjoying his ride. After the ride ended, Jack loved it and Abi decided to share that it was fun, and that she cried the whole time.
We then headed over to the animal buildings to look at the Cows, Bunnies and Goats. Jack and Abi loved the bunnies and the goats - I think because they could actually pet them. Saying goodbye to the animals we decided we were hungry so Jeremy got the kids a corn dog and chicken strips and then we shared some chicken nacho's. We found a spot right by the gravatron that had some grass and sat with Mom, Brooke and Logan and enjoyed our little dinner.
We knew the rodeo was going on in the arena so after eating we headed over there to the over packed, over crowded arena to see if we would be able to see anything. Standing at the west end of the area we watched a few of the events. With it getting late we said good night and good bye to Mom, Logan and Brooke and headed home. What a fun filled night.
