Easter 2012

This year for easter was such a fun weekend. It started Saturday morning with us waking up late and rushing to Wheeler Farm for their easter egg hunt (which was sold out and they were turning people away), good thing we reserved early. We arrived right after they started, but there were plenty of eggs to find. We made it over the big bridge and in the grove of trees we decided to hunt for eggs there and to our little eyes there were a lot of eggs. Jack didn't really want to get the eggs, but after awhile he was all in. He was practicing for the egg hunt that was going to be happening at grandma's house later that day. Abi on the other hand dove right in and was finding all of the eggs that she needed to find. After we found all of the eggs we headed to a line that wrapped around by the animals. We had to turn in our eggs to get our treat bags and t-shirts. Once we did that we got into another line for the tractor ride. While we waited we visited the animals and got to see them up close. Once the tractor ride was over we headed to the playground and played for a little while, which then we headed to Grandma's house. Due to crazy schedules that were happening on Sunday we decided to have our easter Saturday starting at 4:00 pm. We arrive about noon and from there they kids played and I helped mom put stuff together. In the end the eggs were stuffed with candy, Logan hid the eggs for the kids to find later. For dinner we had artichokes, tomato and cheese salad, potatoes and baked honey ham with a cherry mint mojito for a drink. It was all delicious. After dinner the kids headed outside to finally hunt down the eggs. In the end, Logan hid 70 eggs and the little ones found each and every one of them. After fiding the eggs and opening them up and finding sweet candy inside it was time for dessert which mom made a potted cake. While we were dishing the cake, the kids started calling it dirt cake (with the oreos mashed up and the chocolate pudding - it did look like dirt cake. What a fun day to spend time with family and realize what easter is all about. How Jesus sacrified himself for us so that the mistakes we make we can repent and return to him one day. I can't imagine having to go through that, but I do know he was the strong one and he loves each and every one of us. I know that Jesus and Heavenly Father live and I know they love me and my family, that they do hear my prayers. Hope all of you had a great Easter!
