You are all probably wondering wait she is early...Yes she is 4 weeks early, however when they decide to come there is no stopping them.
Thursday January 14 it was almost closing time when I leaked a little. Not really knowing what was going on, it happened again and again as I was heading home. When I got home I hopped in the shower changed clothes was getting ready to sit down and eat dinner when it happened again. I ran to the bathroom and was still trying to figure things out. I thought I was fine so I took Jack and headed toward his highchair when it happened again and although I was trying my hardest to hold it in however it got through again. I ran to the bathroom and started crying because I was embarrassed that I couldn't hold my own urine - when after all it was actually my water that had broken. I had called my mom and Joyce to verify and they both told us to head to the hospital.
Around 7:30 pm we made is to the hospital and sure enough after one of the tests my water had broke and so they admitted us. The nurses wanted to see how my body did on its own so they decided to wait until 2 am before they enduced me. My body decided not to really do a whole lot so when 2 am came here came the pitosum. At first I thought I would be able to handle the contractions until they became harder and closer together. Around 5 am I couldn't take the pain anymore so I had them call the anesthesiologist to give me an epidural. About 5:30 am the pain was long gone and I fell right to sleep. I woke up around 8 am feeling my contractions again. So I only pushed my button once for additional epidural pain reliever. Finally around 11:15 I was totally dilated and efaced so the pushing began. I pushed for 90 minutes and before the end came I almost couldn't finish I was so exhausted and tired. My doctor didn't know why she wasn't coming out and that she could use the vacuum I agreed, however here came a strong contraction and pushed as hard as I could and she finally came. I guess the vacuum threat worked, because it would have messed up her hair.
We are so excited to have her hear and although she is 4 weeks early she is doing very well - her breathing and vitals were all strong.
Here are a few pictures of her - more to come later.
